Nurturing Future Advocates: Highlights from the 2025 Internal Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition

The Internal Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition (ICAMC) is an arbitration-based moot that aims to provide a platform for novice mooters to develop and refine their advocacy skills in a simulated arbitration setting. In 2025, the competition was organised by the UM Moot Club in collaboration with ALSA UM, with a focus on commercial law.

We are honoured that our Faculty Dean, Professor Jason Chuah, graciously drafted this year’s moot problem. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Chan Kheng Hoe for his role as memorial marker, and to the 33 distinguished judges who generously devoted their time to adjudicate the rounds and provide invaluable feedback to participants.

This year’s competition attracted a total of 59 participants, comprising 20 teams, all of whom demonstrated commendable dedication and enthusiasm throughout the competition.

The internal moot competition will continues to serve as a key initiative in nurturing the next generation of advocates within the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya.
