Yayasan Tun Ismail (YTI) Post Graduate Scholar 

Details of Scholarship: 

The Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya offers a full-fee scholarship for Malaysian students pursuing postgraduate studies—Master of Legal Studies (MLS) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). This scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and is designed to support outstanding students in their pursuit of advanced legal education and research. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for a maximum duration of one and a half (1.5) years for MLS or three (3) years for the PhD, subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress throughout the program.

Important Dates: Application is closed on 15th August 2025. 

How to Apply for the Scholarship

Potential candidates are eligible to apply for the scholarship only after receiving an offer letter from the Faculty of Law.

Once the offer letter has been issued, applicants should proceed with the scholarship application as per the instructions that will be given with the offer letter.

Selection Criteria for Scholarship:

Malaysian  - The applicant must be a Malaysian citizen. 

Academic Excellence - Strong academic track record, including high grades, relevant awards, or honors.

Feasibility and Value of Research Proposal - The research should be achievable within the proposed time and resources. It should also have clear objectives, methodology, and potential impact.

Evidence of Motivation and Commitment - Can include personal statements, or prior related experience.

Other Relevant Factors - Leadership roles, community service, extracurricular achievements, financial need, or special circumstances. Any additional attributes that set the applicant apart.
