A Guide to U. S. Law for Businesses

The United States is an important market for Malaysian products. A large consumer- base and the world’s premier market economy explain why the U.S. is crucial for Malaysian companies’ global expansion. While the Covid-19 crisis has negatively impacted most Malaysian exports to the U.S., a few have actually seen unpresented demands. This is certainly the case for rubber gloves. However, forced labor allegations levied against two major companies have emerged as a new threat to Malaysian exports to the U.S.

With the old and new challenges in mind, the seminar is aimed at introducing in-house lawyers and executives of Malaysian companies to the U.S. legal system. In particular, the seminar is designed to help the attendees to:

  1. Gain knowledge of basic kinds of U.S. laws and regulations that affect
  2. Appreciate business and political issues and how they interact with law Identify major obstacles to the expansion to the United States, including petitions to ban certain Malaysian exports to the United States.
